Though not packed with many must see sights, Kurdistan has probably the nicest locals of all destinations (it's a close tie between the Kurds and Iranians). This particular visit to this part of the world was in the months before ISIS began their push to take large parts of land here. Landscape wise it's surprisingly very green.
